How do I set up my Liberty L1 Phone?

There are settings within this documentation that you must obtain from your calling provider before you will be able to complete your phone setup!

STEP 1           CONNECT YOUR LIBERTY PHONE TO HOME OR OFFICE AP (ACCESS POINT)

Simply press the wifi bars  button on you Liberty L1 Wi-Fi SIP phone to locate your home or office internal Wi-Fi AP. Select the desired network and press “connect” and enter the username and password you create when setting up your network.

STEP 2             DETERMINING YOUR PHONE IP ADDRESS

Press the  liberty info button  button on your Liberty L1 Wi-Fi SIP phone and scroll down to “network info” and press enter. Your IP address will be clearly shown.

STEP 3             ACCESS YOUR PHONE FROM YOUR COMPUTER

Enter your phones IP address in the URL line of your computers internet browser using the phones default port (:8000).

STEP 4             ENTER THE PHONE DEFAULT USERNAME AND PASSWORD

In the fields, please enter:

Field Setting
Name Admin
Password 9999

Then press “Log In”

STEP 5             CONFIGURING YOUR DEVICE

Click on the “Call Setup” tab from the top menu bar, and then click on the “Account” section. As an example we will be using Pro-Omnis as and example configuration.

**Please contact your service provider and request the necessary information need to complete the following steps.

Please enter the following fields:

Field Setting
Enter User ID (Provided by your service provider)
Enter Password (Provided by your service provider)
Enter Auth Name (Usually the same as User ID)
Display Name (What you would like shown on your phone screen)
Domain Name (Provided by your service provider)

Once completed, click on the ‘Save Setting’ Button.

STEP 6              CONFIGURING SERVER SETTINGS

Field Setting
Registrar (Provided by your service provider)
Proxy (Provided by your service provider)
Outbound Proxy (Provided by your service provider)

 Once completed click on the Save Setting Button.

That’s it! You are now ready to place a call with your New Liberty L1 Wi-Fi SIP Phone by Apivio Systems Inc.

How do I upgrade the Liberty L1 (Firmware)?

Accessing the L1 Configuration web page:

Using a web browser, navigate to the IP address of the L1 phone. You will need to append the IP address with the specific port # of 8000.

Enabling access to the L1 Configuration web page:

If you are unable to access the It may be necessary to enable access to the configuration web page of the Liberty L1 by following the below procedure.

From the L1 handset’s home screen enter either one of the following strings:

*74123598* or **6646*00

You will be prompted for a password. Enter the following default password:

9999 and press “OK”

Select #3. Remote

You will see a “Success” response

The L1 Configuration web page and performing a software upgrade:

Once you successfully navigate to the L1 configuration web page, you will see the Home tab.

Please note the Model Number of your L1 device. In the above example it is “MWP1100A”.

To perform a software upgrade, navigate to the Maintenance tab.

Select “S/W Upgrade” within the Maintenance tab.

Which firmware to use for your L1 device:

If the L1 model number shows MWP1100A, you will use firmware version

MWP1100N_Apivio_2.00.023R.mvmw

If the L1 model number shows MWP1100N, you will use firmware version

MWP1100N_Apivio_2.00.023.mvmw

Use the “Choose File” dialog box to locate the appropriate firmware for your L1 device.

Select “Yes” for reboot after upgrading so the firmware can take effect, then press “Download”.

Once the firmware upgrade has begun, you will see the following progression of screens on your L1 device:

The web page will update will update accordingly.

Once the L1 firmware upgrade has completed and the L1 has rebooted, you can click on “Back” to return to the S/W Upgrade screen.

Click on the “Home” tab to see the L1 Software information to confirm the version of firmware that was upgraded.

You can now close the browser.

My Liberty L1 Phone has no service

In order to activate your Liberty L1 Phone, you must have a voice calling plan with a VoIP Service Provider.  Even though the Liberty phone may detect a Wi-Fi Hot Spot or an Access Point, an account from a VoIP provider is required for making and receiving calls. Once you have a VoIP account, please refer to the Liberty manual for how to configure your Liberty phone.

Why is the L2 referred to as the WP300S?

The Liberty L2 is branded the WP300s by Moimstone in the South Korean market.

Do the LIberty L1 and Liberty L2 support MWI?

The Liberty L1 supports MWI for SMS messaging while the Liberty L2 supports MWI for both SMS messaging and VoiceMail.  MWI is driven from SIP NOTIFY messages from the VoIP Provider. Please ensure that your provider supports SIP NOTIFY.

How do I access web pages on the phone?

How to solve the “can’t be connected to AP” or “No IP address assigned” problems?

– Check the Wi-Fi AP’s password again.
– Check whether the Wi-Fi AP is connected to Internet.
– Check whether the DHCP server function of the Wi-Fi AP is ON.
– If you have checked all the above items and still have the problems, reboot the Wi-Fi AP and try again.

What is the battery life for standby and talktime?

Standby Time: 60 Hours
Talk Time: 3 Hours

How to save a phone number on the phonebook?

The Liberty Series phones have a function to store up to 500 contacts and up to 100 speed dials. There are three ways to save a phone number which are saving a phone number directly on the phone, and saving the phone number by call history and call, saving a phone number during a call.
1) Saving a phone number directly on the phone
① Press ‘phonebook’ button on navigation button, and select 2. Add to contacts menu.
② Or, on IDLE mode dial the number and press ‘OK’ button, and press ‘Menu’ button and select ‘Add new name’.
③ Enter the contact name and select Type of the number and enter the contact number.
④ You can set up with two digit speed dial which are from 00~99.
⑤ You can pick specific ringtone for each group.
2) Saving a phone number by call history
① On call logs (in IDLE mode, press Call button, or Menu button -> 2. Call Manage -> 1. Logs) press Menu button and select ‘2. Save Contacts’.
② Afterward, all the process are the same with ‘1)Saving a phone number directly on the phone’ (From 2 to 4).
3) Saving a phone number during a call
① During a call, press OK button, and select ‘1. Add new name, or 2. Add existed name’.
② Afterward, all the process are the same with ‘1)Saving a phone number directly on the phone’ (From 2 to 4).

How to transfer a call?

While ‘A’ is on the phone, ‘A’ would like to transfer the call to ‘B’
1) Transfer a call after you pick up the phone
A’ picked up the phone Press the [TRANSFER] Input the phone number of ‘B’ who will receive the transfer call. Press [(Send)] Connecting to ‘B’ ‘A’ can hang up after ‘A’ makes sure that ‘B’ picks up the phone
2) Transfer a call on ringing
‘A’ picked up the phone Press the [TRANSFER] Input the phone number of ‘B’ who will receive the transfer call. Press [(Send)] Outgoing (Ringing) Press the [END]
3) Transfer a call without picking
‘A’ is talking on the phone Press [TRANSFER] Input a transferring number (‘B’s phone number) Press [(Send)] Press the [END]

How to forward a call?

Press [Menu] -> [2.Call Manage] -> [6.Call forwarding] -> Input a phone number which you want to forward -> Set up forwarding option buttons and adjust ringtone volume

How to pick up a call?

To use the call pick up feature, a call pick up group should be first set up. Setting up a call pick-up group should be consulted with a service provider.
① Access the web page of the phone.
② Select “Call Setup” -> “Service“ menu and check “Pick Up Code”.
③ Enter a pick up code. Generally, a pick up code is set up with [*98], however, please ask service provider if it does not work.
④ When the group is set up for the pick up call, anyone in the group can pick up the others’
call from the group using the [Pick up] button.

Voice quality is bad

If you are experiencing poor voice quality, there may be interference from other Wi-Fi devices/networks in your area or you may be too far from the Wi-Fi AP. Check the signal strength of the WiFi connection to the AP (Menu -> 08 Settings -> 1) Wi-Fi info). If there are multiple WiFi AP’s in the area, see what WiFi channel is unused and switch the Liberty WiFi phone to use that channel.

Battery charging issues

  • Please use the dedicated adaptor provided with the phone.
  • Please make sure the charging contacts on the cradle are clean and clear of any foreign objects. Clean any loose foreign material or moisture on the contacts by wiping with a soft and dry cloth.
  • Please make sure the Liberty L1 phone is properly seated in the cradle and the charging LED indicator is illuminated.
  • If the phone still does not charge, please contact the warrantor to purchase a new battery.

Ringtone is too quiet.

Press [Menu] -> [5.Sound] -> [3.Volume] buttons and adjust ringtone volume.

Screen is too dark

Press [Menu] -> [7.Display] -> [3.Brightness] buttons and adjust brightness of the screen.

Dexter Series - How to transfer a call?

Dexter supports the following two call forwarding features; Attended transfer and Blind transfer.
1) Attended Transfer: The term “Attended Transfer” means any call forwarding with notifying a caller to a final receiver. The attended transfer feature can be utilized according to the following procedure.
‘A’ picked up the phone Press the [TRANSFER] Input the phone number of ‘B’ who will receive the transfer call. Press [#(Send)] Connecting to ‘B’ A can hang up after ‘A’ makes sure that ‘B’ picks up the phone
** Press [HOLD] to be able to connect to ‘A’ in case ‘B’ is on the phone or not answering the phone
2) Blind Transfer: The term “Blind Transfer” means any call forwarding without notifying a caller to a final receiver. The blind transfer feature can be utilized according to the following procedure.
‘A’ is talking on the phone Press [TRANSFER] Input a transferring number (‘B’s phone number) Press [#(Send)] Putting the handset down

Dexter Series - How to forward a call?

① Press [CFA] button -> Input a phone number which you want to forward -> Press [ENTER] button.
② [CFA] must be blinking on the screen of LCD after you set up the forwarding a call.
③ Press [CFA] button again to cancel forwarding a call.

Dexter Series - How to pick up a call?

To use the call pick up feature, a call pick up group should be first set up. Setting up a call pick-up group should be consulted with a service provider.
① Press the [MENU] button.
② Using the [VOL+/-] buttons, select the “3. Feature Setup”.
③ After selecting the “4. Call Pick-up”, then select the “1. Enable”.
④ After entering a call pick up code, then press the [ENTER] button to save it. Each call pick up code should be confirmed by a service provider.
⑤ When the group is set up for the pick up call, anyone in the group can pick up the others’ incoming call from the group using the [PICK UP] button

Dexter Series - How to access the web page on the phone?

Here is an instruction for how to access a webpage on the phone.
① Press the [MENU] with leaving the handset down.
② Check IP address of the phone by using the dials [2. Status Info] [3. Network Info] [1. IP Address] in order.
③ You are able to access the webpage after you put the link of http://IPaddress:8000 on the web browser.
④ Put “admin” on username, and Put “9999” on password.
⑤ You will be able to access a webpage which you can set up functions of the phone.
* Notice
– You will not be able to access the webpage without http://.
– In case you try to connect the phone through private IP, the phone and PC must be same network domain. For example, IP address of the phone must be 192.168.0.XX when IP address of PC is 192.168.0.XX.

Dexter Series - How to save a phone number on the phonebook?

The Dexter Series phones have a function to save the phone number from 00 to 99 which is separated from the short dial (memory button). There are three ways to save a phone number which are saving a phone number directly on the phone, saving the phone number through a webpage, and saving the phone number by call history.
1) Saving a phone number directly on phone
① Press the button of [PHONE BOOK] with the handset down, and wait for the screen to show ‘Search’; then press the [ENTER].
② When you see ‘PHONEBOOK EMPTY’ on the screen, Press the [MENU]. (‘PHONEBOOK EMPTY’ shows when there is no saved numbers; however, the saved phone numbers are shown on the list when there are saved phone numbers)
③ The short dial [00] is shown on the screen of the LCD. You can choose the short dial for saving the phone number by [Vol+/-]. Also, the short dials are able to set up with two digits which are from 00 to 99.
④ Press the [ENTER] after you decide which short dial you will use for the phone number; then, you can save the phone number on the short dial by Pressing [Digit]
⑤ Press the [Digit] to save caller’s name for the short dial after you saved the phone number on the phone. The button of [MENU] can convert Minuscule, Capital, and Special Characters.
⑥ You can also pick specific ringtone for the saved phone number after pressing [ENTER] to save the caller’s name. The ringtone can be chosen by the button of [Vol+/-]
⑦ After you select the ringtone you can save it by pressing [ENTER].
2) Saving a phone number by call history
① After you press the button of [CALL LOG] with the handset down, select the phone
number you want to save from the list of call history by using the button of [Vol+/-]
② Press the [MENU] after you choose the phone number from the call history.
③ Press [1.Save Number]
④ Afterward, all the process are same with 1) Saving a phone number directly on the phone ( From 3. to 7. )
3) Saving a phone number through a webpage
① Access the webpage of the phone (Please refer FAQ to find how to access the webpage.)
② Select [Function Setup>Phonebook] tab menu of the webpage.
③ Fill up ring, name, and phone number in order and select ‘Save’. ** Notice: Must press [Save] after you set up.
④ The short dial on the top must be checked, so you are able to call the phone number by saved the short dial with the ‘two digits’+’#
